Hello, my dears. This post will be pathethic and it is no wonder. Because I’m going to tell you about our trip to Paphos (officially Pafos). That was our first vacation together with my husband and our twins, so we’ve decided to choose a family-friendly destination. Well, is it possible to have a rest with two children of 1.5 years? Visiting Paphos as a family does bring some stress, but take it easy and relax enjoying the gorgeous island of Cyprus.

Tipp for parents with baby: try to arrive at the airport at least 2 h before departure. Such a trip does require planning, but you will get it immediately. 

Part 1. “Mommy, we promise, it won’t be boring …”

I have keeping going this post in my head for a long time. So I’m sorry for the delay, the events are of two years ago… However, for those who are going to visit Cyprus in 2020, it is unlikely that many things have been changed there. We were planning our trip for a very long time, being very worried how everything would go. We made our flight without any helpers: me, my husband and our son and daughter … that morning, the children woke up in a good mood, they both had their breakfast and stayed fine on the road to the airport! Although they always like car trips.

But what do you thing, is it easy to manage two barely learned-to-run babies at a large airport? Nope, I say. So in these moments just be patient, honestly. May be you should think about magnificent holidays that are waiting for you, about the nice and warm pool or sunny beach … My daughter decided to be a little dramatic by arranging a “performance” in the queue. Actually, those passengers immediately let us go forward! Because we had to pass the control with four carry-on baggage items, regardless of the fact that 7 suitcases were already checked in. You may ask: why so many things visiting Pathos? But we made a trip with two babies for 2 months, and how many things one little child needs – you understand that, only by packing your bags. 

After passing through security control, we even had time to eat in cafe, then we boarded a flight, took our seats together, then our plane immediately took off. Our twins were extremely surprised by this circumstance and immediately began to cry, loudly and both together. So on, during almost the whole flight… I guessed we’ve prepared ourselves well: their favourite toys, iPad with cartoons, books and cookies. But all that did not save us from the drama: the children flatly refused to sit in their chairs and shouted very much. We must have been remembered for a long time by the passengers, who were surely blessing the  landing.

We could only breathe out when we landed and got off the plane and the children calmed down immediately. Our relative met us, we loaded everything into a car and hit the road on Paphos.

Part 2. Pafos 2017 our first impressions

Thank God, our kids liked the island and the ambient which is very different from Moscow Region. Paphos is a resort in the southernmost part of Cyprus, combining the beauty of nature and the warm water of the Mediterranean Sea. The only thing worth nothing is that beaches here are rocky, not for every taste, so that is the pool were we spent our time mostly. But in the evening, the magenta sun perfectly illuminates this landscape. We enjoyed our family sunset walks exploring Pafos.

Of course, we used to spent the vacations according to the regime of children. I gave them breakfast early in the morning, then got them dressed and we went to the sea. In the afternoon when it’s a heat wave, we were going home to sleep and take a breath. As the children woke up, we again went to the beach. I guess those baths in the Mediterranean have chilled my kids out. Plus a charge of vitamin D, fresh fruits, constantly warm and fresh air, all that is important.

Tipp for parents: plane a fall holiday with children in Cyprus as a prevention of winter colds.

Sometimes we stayed at home and hopped in a warm pool, for this reason we bought beach toys.

Evenings were nice, we went with the children for a walk on the promenade, dined in restaurants (how can I stay without my favourite seafood), took some souvenir photos. Here you can see pics of Paphos with it’s beaches, shops and restaurants. For me it was the highlight of the trip. 

Despite the heat outside the Mediterranean Sea is very mild and cool. It has a rich colour of aquamarine and  is filled with colourful fishes and algae, but still relatively clean and warm. October is the end of the swimming season, the water temperature drops from the “summer” +27 degrees to +20, and in November no one dares to swim.

Part 3. Finally, holiday begins

My mother-in-law visited us for a short while in the middle of our vacation, and then my husband and I finally felt the romance of relaxation together. We took many beautiful photos of Cyprus:

As you see, there are many places to take pics on, you have to use your imagination! Here is a list of TOP 5 things to see in this most fashionable part of Cyprus:

1. Avakas Gorge, it is a natural canyon of a mountain river and it contains a lot of small caves. Avakas is located 26 kilometres from Pafos driving in the direction of the Akamas Peninsula.
2. Wild beaches, one of them should be the birthplace of Aphrodite (Greek mythology claims she was born from the foam of the sea on Cyprus’ south coast). So do not be surprised if you are offered to visit 4 or 5 different places all named in honour of Aphrodite.
3. The monastery in Kikos has to be on the list with the ancient ruins surround it.  
4. Paphos Zoo, opened in 2003. Here you can see the most complete and enviable collection of tropical birds and poisonous snakes in Europe. Also you can visit a natural science museum and the exhibition of works by the famous artist Eric Peak, who dedicated his style to the colourful plumage of birds.
5. A lighthouse on the waterfront of Paphos. And you will find many more other beauties, I assure you!

Speaking of the promenade: in 2017, here you could visit the exhibition of works “Factory of Culture under the open sky”. The city of Pafos itself received the status of the European Capital of Culture-2017. We saw a lot of talented works, for example the interpretation of the myth about Pygmalion, Galatea and their daughter Pafo, It was she who gave the name to this beautiful resort city in Cyprus!

Part 4. Departure 

Despite periodic stress, nobody wanted to leave. In the Moscow region, by the time of our departure, it had already snowed (and here it is still +25. The children really liked the rest, nature, events. Passing the silence of the little whims, I think that the best time to relax in Cyprus with children is from August to October, the sun it’s not as hot as in summer, but the water is warm, and it’s nice to walk in the evening – there is no nasty, sweltering heat.

Part 5. Αντίο, Πάφος

Yes, it was in Greek: bye-bye, Pafos. To be honest: despite periodic stress, nobody wanted to leave this gorgeous resort. In the Moscow region, by the time of our departure, it had already snowed, but here it was still +25 degrees. The children really enjoyed the rest, the nature and events. I think that the best time to visit Cyprus with children is from August to October, when  the sun is not as hot as in the middle of the summer, but the water is still warm, and there is no nasty, sweltering heat.

Alas, you can’t rest forever, there are other things to be done. So we packed again our stuff into suitcases, wow! They have noticeably thickened from the shopping. The back flight we spent even worse, I think, the entire passengers wanted to drop us off the aircraft. But after landing, the children quickly remembered their house and even seemed to be happy about coming back. So, my dear moms and daddies, having vacations with children of 1.5 years in another country bears fruit!

Отдых с детьми на Кипре, Пафос: куда поехать осенью на море с семьей?

Приветствую всех, мои дорогие читатели. Предостерегаю: этот пост будет пафосным. Потому что в нем я расскажу о нашей с мужем и детьми поездке на Пафос. Итак, какой он – первый отдых с детьми-двойняшками, можно ли вообще брать ребенка 1,5 лет с собой на море и в самолет, и как отдохнуть на греческом острове Кипр, на курорте Пафос сверх обыкновения? Читайте об этом далее. 

Совет родителям: с маленьким ребенком всегда прибывайте в аэропорт минимум за 2,5-2 часа до вылета. Увидите сами, сколько всего нужно сделать и притом без стресса для себя и малыша. 

Часть 1я. 5 минут, полет ненормальный…

Этот пост я давно вынашивала в своей фантазии. Так что простите за задержку, события двухлетней давности… Впрочем, для тех, кто собирается на отдых на Кипре в 2020 году, вряд ли что-то там изменилось. Мы очень долго готовились к поездке, особенно морально, сильно волновались как же все пройдет. Летели туда без всяких помощников: я, муж и сын с дочкой… Утром дети без капризов проснулись, позавтракали, дорогу в аэропорт перенесли отлично! Хотя поездки на машине они всегда отлично переносят.

И как оно, в большом аэропорту с детьми, которые едва научились бегать и сразу же стали этим пользоваться? Запаситесь терпением, честно. Просто думайте о том, как хорошо вам будет потом, у бассейна или на пляже…Моя дочурка решила немного оскандалиться, устроив представление в очереди. Правда, нас сразу же пропустили вперед, добра всем этим людям! Потому что нам надо было пройти осмотр с четырьмя ручными кладями, и это без того, что 7 чемоданов уже сданы были в багаж. Вы спросите: зачем брать с собой на Пафос столько вещей? Но мы летели с двумя малышами на 2 месяца, а сколько вещей нужно ребенку – это понимаешь, только упаковав вот так вот чемоданы… 

Кое-как пройдя чемоданно-паспортный контроль, мы все-таки успели перекусить в кафе, сели на рейс, заняли места все вчетвером, и наш самолет сразу взлетел. Наши двойняшки чрезвычайно удивились этому обстоятельству и сразу же принялись дружно орать во всю голосину. Так прошел почти весь полет… Мы подготовились: в полет взяли их любимые на тот момент игрушки, айпад со сказками и мультиками, книги и любимое печенье. Но это нас не спасло: дети наотрез отказывались сидеть в своих креслах и очень сильно кричали, и так прошел весь полет.  Нас еще долго, должно быть, вспоминали пассажиры, благословляя минуты посадки. 

Выдохнуть мы смогли только когда приземлились и вышли из самолета и дети снова успокоились.
Нас встретил родственник, загрузили все в машину и двинулись домой, в Пафос.

Часть 2я. Первые впечатления, отдых на Пафосе 2017 

Слава тебе господи, нашим малышам понравилась обстановка, невиданные доселе в Подмосковье южные широты. Пафос – курорт в самой южной части Кипра, сочетающий в себе красоты природы и тепло Средиземного моря. Пляжи здесь, правда, каменистые, не каждому могут подойти, так что мы жили большей частью у бассейна. Зато вечером розовое солнце превосходно освещает ландшафт, и мы любили эти семейные прогулки на закате. 

Жили конечно по режиму детей, рано утром кормила их, собирались и ехали на море. К наступлению жары уезжали домой чтобы уложить на дневной сон. А также самим немного отдохнуть или приготовить поесть. Как дети просыпались, снова уезжали на пляж. Целительные купанья в Средиземном море пошли на пользу их неугомонному  характеру. Плюс заряд витамина Д, свежие фрукты, постоянно в тепле и на свежем воздухе. 

Совет родителям: попробуйте отдых с детьми на Кипре осенью как профилактику зимних простуд.

Иногда мы оставались дома и плескались в теплом бассейне, для этого накупили малышам пляжных игрушек.
Вечерами мы ездили с детьми погулять на набережную, поужинать в ресторанчиках (как же я без любимых морепродуктов), сделать фотографии на память. Фото Пафоса, пляжей и ресторанов, конечно, прилагаю. 

Какая вода у побережья Пафоса? Богатая, насыщенная красками из-за пестрых рыб и водорослей, но все же относительно чистая и теплая. Октябрь – конец купального сезона,  температура воды опускается с «летних» +27 градусов до +20, и в ноябре купаться уже никто не осмеливается. 

Часть 3я. Наконец-то отдых начинается

В середине отпуска к нам ненадолго приехала свекровь, и тогда мы с мужем наконец-то ощутили романтику отдыха вдвоем. Мы сделали много красивых фотографий Кипра.

Мест для фото много, главное включить фантазию! Вот список ТОП-5 достопримечательных мест, которые стоит посетить в этой самой фешенебельной части Кипра:

1. Ущелье Авакас, естественный каньон горной реки с небольшими пещерами. Находится в 26 километрах от Пафоса, ехать автомобилем в направлении полуострова Акамас. 
2. дикие пляжи, на одном из которых по легенде родилась из пены морской Афродита. Так что не удивляйтесь, если Вам предложат посетить 4-5 разных мест, названных в ее честь. 
3. монастырь в Кикосе и окрестности, древние развалины вокруг него. 
4. зоопарк Пафоса, открывшийся в 2003 году. Здесь находится самая полная и завидная коллекция тропических птиц и ядовитых змей в Европе. Здесь при зоопарке расположен также музей естествознания и выставка работ известного художника Эрика Пика, посвященная пестрому оперению птиц. 
5. маяк на набережной. И Вы найдете еще много других красот, уверяю!

Говоря о набережной: в 2017 году здесь, на главной артерии Пафоса проходила выставка работ «Фабрика культуры под открытым небом», а сам город получил статус культурной столицы Европы-2017. Много талантливых работ мы увидели, а красной нитью проходил сюжет мифа о Пигмалионе и Галатее, у которых родилась дочь Пафо… Именно она дала имя городу-курорту на Кипре!

Часть 4я. Отъезд 

Скажу честно: несмотря на периодический стресс, уезжать не хотел никто. В Подмосковье ко времени нашего отъезда уже выпал снег( а тут до сих пор +25. Деткам очень понравился отдых, природа, мероприятия. Обойдя молчанием небольшие капризы, считаю что самое идеальное время для отдыха на Кипре с детьми это с августа по октябрь, солнце уже не такое жаркое как летом, а вода теплая. Да и вечером приятно прогуливаться – нет противной, изнуряющей жары.

Увы, вечно отдыхать не получается, дела не ждут. И мы снова запихнули вещи в наши заметно потолстевшие от курортного шоппинга чемоданы. Обратный перелет прошел еще хуже, снова весь салон самолета хотел нас высадить. Зато когда вернулись, дети быстро вспомнили свой дом и даже показалось, что обрадовались возвращению.
